"Yahoo! pulls the plug on JumpCut web based video editor". Pain in the neck to use - tried many a time to upload videos and failed. Only ever got this Marvin video up.

"If Microsoft does mandate conversions of Yahoo products to Windows technology, the other side of the equation is worth pondering as well: How many Yahoo developers would rather quit than re-implement their products using some flavor of Dot Net?" (waxy)

Yahoo! Music's Ian Rogers says what's been obvious for fucking years. I don't claim to have been right, but all the muppets buying their iPods and finding their iTunes bought music wouldn't play on their new PC, wtf?
Buy music from Napster and play it back and record it so you can play it on your mp3 player, wtf?
Buy some crap from Sony and install it and lose all your non-drm'd music, wtf?
Forget it. I'll buy music. Just let me buy it in the format I want (vbr mp3), let me play it on what I want (PC, Mac, mp3 player), and let me play it to who I want (mix cd's, email, sharing files). I've bought music from listening to music, not from not being able to hear music. And if I want to spread the word on a band, I'm not trying to shaft anyone.
The music industry has treated us as criminals, crippled our 'paid for' music, and wonders why we go to a Russian site to buy music.
Well, it's great to hear Yahoo won't have anything more to do with it.

From a bbc article comes this search engine that grades the results on how safe the site (virus, malicious software, etc): Scandoo. One for my kids and parents, methinks. Brilliant idea.

"Miss Europe, Shermine Shahrivar of Germany, poses during red carpet arrivals". The photographer only really had one thing on his mind, methinks. [Update: crappy Yahoo has broken the link, so I'm linking to a blog that noticed the same thing]
